Uit naam van Christenen voor Israël stuurde ds. Henk Poot een condoleancebrief aan het bestuur van Beth Haggai, de woonplaats van de vier slachtoffers van de terreuraanslag van dinsdagavond, 31 augustus:

Dear Friends,

With dismay and sorrow we heard the news about the terrible terrorist attack in which four young and precious people, inhabitants of your community were murdered. We realize that we hardly can imagine what the death of

Avishai Shindler

means for the people of Beit Haggai and especially for their children and relatives.
There are no human words to comfort you and to express the loss of these brave men and women who were one in their belief that G-d has given the land of Israel to the Jewish people as the place to worship and love Him and who are now unified in their death.
We can only say that we love you and will always look for ways to support communities like Beit Haggai with the beautiful work they do, with deep respect for their aim to sanctify the Name of G-d in inhabiting the heartland of Israel.

Your prophet Isaiah says: “Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is a storm against the wall.
Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place […]
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord G-d will wipe away tears from all faces”
(26:3-5,8)

Together with you we trust in this Word of G-d, our hearts filled with the expectation of the coming of His Kingdom.
